I struggle a lot with dry skin in winter,so I always look for a body lotion which offers hydration and moisture for my skin. I’ve tried the Nivea Almond Oil body lotion which claims to help with dry skin but sadly didn’t work out for me.So when they released the new Nivea Body Oil Lotions (R47,99 for 400ml) , I thought maybe these would offer something better than the latter. The lotions come in two variants; Vanilla and Almond oil & Cherry Blossom and Jojoba oil. I picked up the Vanilla and Almond oil to try and I will also show you guys how the new lotion differs with the Almond oil one.

Nivea body lotion

I wont lie the packaging is lovely and feminine, I mean look at those vanilla blossoms and the lighter color of the bottle.Definitely one of the reasons I picked it up. I enjoyed the lovely vanilla scent of the lotion, it wasn’t overpowering and it lasted quite a while on my skin. On application, the lotion went on smoothly and absorbed well into the skin, but my hands were left with a weird sticky feel turns out the lotion contains silicone so that’s why.

I was expecting the lotion to have a heavy and thick formula like the Almond oil (Dark Blue) lotion, but it was lighter and less moisturising. So if you have dry skin and are looking for something with more moisture power then this isn’t for you.I think this would be a lovely product for those with normal skin and also great as an option for summer days as the product suggests .The lotions are available at your nearest Supermaket and of course Clicks and Dischem. On the picture below, you can see the difference between the two lotions

Nivea Body Oil Lotion

Pros
  • Lovely subtle scent
  • Absorbs fast
  • Lighter formula
Cons
  • Suitable for normal skin
  • Less moisturising
  • Contain silicone

That’s it from guys.Let me know if you have tried these new scents and if you are willing to try them.

Till the next one

Love V

  1. I have kept mum about the nivea almond oil infused lotion in case I offend. I agree with you. It is not as moisturising as I expected it to be. I do however love the vanilla scent. I will see if it works better in summer because it really does nought for my dry thirsty winter skin.
I love nivea and there’s nothing of theirs I do not try.
My all time favourite is the pampering oil wash and their nivea creme that comes in a tin.
Those are my holy grails all seasons.
Thanks for the honest blog post.
