Hey  Loves,

It’s been ages and I’ve missed every single one of you. Hope all is well with you. In September I had  the pleasure of attending the Lancome Master Class thanks to my friend Nisa from BelleBlushh for the invitation, I wouldnt have known about it. She’s the most sweetest at heart and inspiring blogger I look up to, please do check her out. Hosted  at Lancome’ Sandton City store by David Sharp, Lancome’s Acclaimed National Make-up Artist, the class was to teach the attendees how to achieve a natural flawless makeup look using the brand’s bestselling products. In this post I’ll be sharing with you the tips and tricks we learned and also what we received inside the goodie bag. So grab a cuppa and read on!

Look at all that makeup!!! David also talking about Genefique

Upon arrival we were given some drinks for refreshments and also requested to remove any makeup or just clean our faces using Bi-Facil Gentle Facial Cleanser & Makeup Remover, David went on to explain the importance of a good skincare routine and how a good base plays key to makeup application. The next product used is no stranger and you guys probably know it, it’s Lancome’ number one bestselling product worldwide, who hasnt heard of Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate. We used this to moisturize and hydrate the skin, if there’s one product I’m willing to splurge on is this one.. This stuff is amazing guys, I could instantly feel my skin drinking up the serum and it immediately became soft, supple and guurl the glow!!!Yup! I said it, it gave my skin a healthy glow from within, my skin looked a whole lot better.I’m definitely getting this baby when  I get my coins right!

My workstation during the class

We all know the importance of a primer before foundation, I’ve been on the search for a primer which minimizes pores and controls oil. I’ve never found one that does both sadly but the Lancome La Base Pro Primer is capable of such , the primer blurs out pores and it is oil free. The primer has that silicone texture and feel but it does’nt feel like silicone on the skin, it’s very lightweight and applies well. Next up for foundation we used the trendy Teint Idole Ultra 24H Long Wear Foundation, apparently this is Lancome’s best foundation yet and I totally understand why. Now if you use foundation often you know how difficult it can be to get a shade which matches your undertone correctly, David and his assistants made this such a breeze and we were all matched to our correct shades. The foundation is medium coverage with a semi matte finish, you can build up coverage by apply one or more layers. Now I know my oily-skin ladies cringed at “semi-matte finish” but worry not. Though the finish is semi-matte, it looks very nice on the skin, it gives that natural healthy glowy skin look and what I liked more is that no matter how you build up coverage, the foundation still looks natural like its your skin but even better. The foundation range also includes foundation sticks which can be used for spot concealing and they do that very well.

I was matched to Caramel 08

We were taught  how to apply eyeshadow, did you guys know that the best way to apply your eyeshadows especially around the crease is to start with as little product as possible and blend that shadow in slow motions inside-out, the most important thing in all this is to use a clean blending brush for good application. We used  the Lancome compact and single eyeshadows and we were encouraged to be as creative as we can. We went on to do our brows and we were challenged to keep them as simple as possibles, the ladies asssisted us with this step. The next steps included application of liner on our upper lids, and also how to apply blush to get that contoured flushed look without looking like a clown. Lastly for lips, David encourgaed us to apply any lip colour we feel compliments our makeup look, bringing us to the end of the session.

For me this class was so worth it, not only was it a perfect opportunity to try out some of their best products but it was enlightening. The tips and tricks that were shared were life-changing, my makeup game has changed so much since I attended the class. The price was also a steal, for R550 we were taught skincare and makeup tips and we recieved the Teint Idole foundation which retails for R550, a pair of sunglasses, a planner, a mini foundation brush, a mini La Vie Est Belle Parfum and a makeup pouch. This was an absolute steal!!!

With the Master, @DavidSharp
