Hey Guys,

Happy New Year !! Wow, I can’t even begin to describe how happy I am to be finally out of 2018. What a year! Hope all of you crossed well into the new year, I’m not all about that “New Year, New Me” shenanigans but I believe it’s a great time to hit the reset button, set new goals for the year ahead with the goal to become better and make this year way better than the former one. I am thinking of doing a post on all the lessons 2018 has taught me in my personal and blogging life, but that’s a topic for another day. One of the best decisions if not the only best (LOL, I kid) was to put in more effort in taking care of my skin. And yes, that means moving from one product to the next trying to find the best products for my skin.

Dermalogica

I wont bore you with all the details about my skin’s history, but I’m sure by now we all know how I’ve always thought my skin was oily but that wasn’t entirely true and turns out that my skin has changed. I found that out when I decided to get my skin analysed last year in November because I was breaking out a lot, my skin infested with white & blackheads not forgetting the acne scars I had to deal with from previous breakouts (wasn’t a pretty sight to look at). I was frustrated and wanted to understand my skin better, so I got my skin analysed at Dermalogica and turns out my skin was dehydrated and still oily, yup I had combination skin(oily t-zone and dry cheeks ). But that’s a story for another day, the lady prescribed a few products I can use to help the situation and one of the products recommended was Dermalogica’s Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask.

I’m sure most of you have heard of Dermalogica, if you haven’t; they are an American Skincare Experts Company, I’ve read great reviews on most of their products but they don’t come cheap. Now onto my impressions about this baby; the product is part of their Clear Start range which is formulated for teens and young adults who struggle with acne. The mask contains Sulfur which helps keep the skin clean, Kaolin clay which helps purify and absorb excess oil from the skin and Apple fruit extract which hydrates the skin. The mask claims to assist in controlling excess oil, clear pores while targeting blackheads and keeping the skin clear. I’ve seen a few of some of my fave bloggers rave about this on Instagram and I’m glad I got my hands on it.

Dermalogica

So for application, I normally use 2-3 pumps of this on areas where I’m prone to get blackheads, my nose and chin (hot spot for whiteheads), the mask will start to fizz, I normally wait till the fizzing is done and then rinse off with warm water.I’m not a fan of the tingling of the mask especially on my nose but its tolerable, I’ve used this mask for 2 weeks now (3 times a week) and I’ve seen a huge difference with the whiteheads on my nose and chin area and also the occurrence of blackheads on my skin. I really must say that I’m impressed with this product and it has become an absolute fave, it does help with reducing black and white heads. The Dermalogica Blackhead Clearing mask is R329 for 50 mL and it’s meant to last for six weeks which I think is great for that price point.

I would really recommend this mask if you struggle with blackheads and whiteheads a lot. You can get Dermalogica products here or simply visit their stand alone stores or any Sorbet store.

That’s it Loves, have you tried Dermalogica? What are your fave products from them?Your fave blackhead busting products?Let me know in the comments below

Till the next one

Love V
